Repoll at Saikul PS declared null and void ; 28 polling stations to go for repoll today

Imphal, March 09 2017: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has declared that polling held at 27 polling stations on March 8 and re-polling held at one polling station of Saikul AC today was void.

The ECI has also notified that the 28 polling stations would go to re-poll/fresh poll tomorrow between 7 am and 3 pm tomorrow (March 10) .

Repoll has been notified at these polling stations following reports/complaints of electoral malpractices including damages done to EVMs and intimidation of voters.

On the other hand, repoll was held at 34 polling stations. Out of the 34 polling stations which went to repoll today, five were in Andro AC, one in Uripok AC, 12 in Saikul AC, three in Saitu AC, six in Thanlon, five Henglep and one each in Saikot AC and Singhat AC .

According to a notification issued by DEO Ukhrul MJ Pradip Chandren, one polling station of Phungyar AC, two of Ukhrul AC and six of Chingai AC would go to repoll tomorrow.

Repoll would be held at 43/51 Aishi (Aishi Primary School) of Phungyar AC, 44/ 32 Hundung C-I (Hundung Kaziphung Govt High School) of Ukhrul AC and 44/52 Mapum (Mapum Govt High School) of Ukhrul tomorrow from 7 am to 3 pm.

The polling stations of Chingai AC which would go to repoll are 45/4 Chingjaroi CV, 45/6 Chingjaroi Khullen A, 45/7 Chingjaroi Khullen B, 45/13 Razai Khunou, 45/ 30 Paoyi A and 45/31 Paoyi B .

In Chandel AC, 41/32 Khambathei, 41/35 Larong Khullen, 41/57 Molphei and 41/65 Changpol polling stations would go to repoll along with42/23 Khunbi polling station of Tengnoupal AC.

46/16 Ekou Mulam polling station of Saikul AC which went to repoll today would go for fresh poll tomorrow.

Fresh poll was notified for Ekou Mulam polling station after electoral malpractices were detected through webcasting.

Altogether nine polling stations of Karong AC would also go to repoll.

They are 47/1 Koide A, 47/2 Koide B, 47/3 Koide C, 47/4 Koide D, 47/19 Phaibung Khunou, 47/28 Purul Akutpa A, 47/29 Purul Akutpa B, 47/30 Purul Akutpa C and 47/31 Purul Akutpa D .

Four polling stations of Tadubi AC namely 49/6 Yangkhullen B, 49/22 Mao Pungdung A, 49/26 Chawanamei Khunou and 49/46 Oklong would also go to repoll tomorrow.
