Integrity Day to be held on Sep 28

Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) and National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) will be observing the 17th Manipur Integrity and Solidarity Day on September 28 at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound .
Speaking to media persons at NIPCO's office at keishampat today, AMKIL president, Phanjoubam Sakhi said that the event will be observed in remembrance of the mass public protest led by the two associations on September 28 of 2000, against any external threat to the integrity of the State .
She conveyed that AMKIL and NIPCO will stand against anyone or any forces which try to harm the integrity of the State and will also work tirelessly toward bringing peace and harmony among the different communities living in the State .
NIPCO president, Oinam Premjit said that the Framework Agreement signed between the Central Government and the NSCN (IM) has been creating tension and uncertainty among the diverse community who have been living together in the State since time immemorial .
Although the contents of the Framework Agreement are still shrouded in mystery, AMKIL and NIPCO will not tolerate any agenda which may harm the integrity of the State or create unrest among the people, he added .
Premjit further said that the associations will take numerous resolutions including message for peace, unity and development .
Appealing all the people to participate in the event, he urged all those concerned not to call any bandh or blockade on the day of the event.
