Imphal, June 18:
Unidentified armed persons today looted Rs 11.7 lakhs meant for paying three months salary to employees of Khuga Head Works Division from five officials at Tualnuam village, reports our correspondent.
Information received by the press said that two unidentified youths coming on Honda Activa followed the officials as they were heading for Khuga Dam from UBI Churachandpur Branch.
On reaching Tualnuam village, three armed men in bike halted them and looted the money on gun-point and retreated from the scene immediately.
A case has been registered with Churachandpur police station and five officials have been taken into custody for obtaining their statements.
