Imphal, July 08 2022: For the third day in the row, 22 persons were found infected by Covid-19 out of 223 samples tested during the last 24 hours pegging the daily positivity rate at 9.9 per cent.

With the addition of 22 more, the number of active cases is now 118 .

All the 22 infected persons are from general population and they are residents of Imphal East (4), Imphal West (13), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Kamjong (1), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (1) .

However, there is no report of any Covid related death during the last 24 hours even though the pandemic had already claimed 2120 lives in the State.

Following recovery, one Covid-19 positive person was discharged from home isolation during the last 24 hours.

The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State stands at 1,37,389 (general population 1,32,375 and Central security personnel 5,014) .

This figure 1,35,151 recovered cases (general population 1,30,144 and Central security personnel 5,007) .

The recovery rate as on Friday is 98.37 per cent.

The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 29,78,558 (first dose 15,96,976, second dose 12,64,326 and precautionary dose 1,17,256).Till Thursday, 62 per cent of the State's total eligible population has received the first dose of Covid vaccine while 53.33 per cent has been given both the first and second dose.
