Rice, cereal donated on IPSA birthday

Imphal, September 14 2012: International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) celebrated its 15th foundation anniversary by donating five bags of rice and one bag of cereal (dal) each to Yaibilen Destitute Children Home, Keibi Sanapat and Kanglatongbi Children Home.

The food items were handed over to authorities of the Homes today by IPSA functionaries, including its president Johnson Elangbam.

Interacting with newspersons, Johnson expressed that donation of the food grains is a small gesture of the organisation to extend help to the destitute children.

He also exuded confidence that the children would grow up and contribute their mite in the overall advancement of Manipur.

Johnson also conveyed that the plan to release a book entitled 'Identification of State Flag of the Ancient Kingdom of Manipur' to commemorate IPSA's foundation anniversary had to be deferred due to certain constraints.

Meanwhile, Yaibilen Destitute Children Home secretary MK Ellawar confided that as the centre is being run by a group of elderly citizens efficient administration could not be ensured.

He also opined that lack of assistance from the side of the Government might be due to its location at a distant place from the State capital and appealed to both the Government and the NGOs to extend support and cooperation to enable the Home administrators serve the destitute children.

While the Keibi Sanapat facility has 15 children, the Kanglatongbi Children Home is currently taking care of 40 children.
