Imphal, August 20 2024:
The Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) has appealed to all concerned to ensure that the Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) election slated for August 23 is held in a free and fair manner.
Speaking to media persons at their Lamphelpat office today, MAYOL president Asem Prince said that the Manipuri society is regressing day by day and Manipur University has a big role in making the society a progressive one.
Solutions to different problems and issues of the State should come from MU which implies that the responsibility of MU is momentous, he said.
The MAYOL president then appealed to all the students of MU to share their responsibility towards making the Manipuri society a progressive and vibrant society once again.
He also pointed out that MU could not find a place in the NIRF's top 100 universities of India.
It's time for the student community to question the ever rising cases of social evils and anti-social activities, Prince said.
He then appealed to all concerned to make the upcoming MUSU election an ideal one so that the most competent/qualified candidates are elected.
He also appealed to all the students of MU to abide by the code of conduct issued by the election monitoring committee and see that the election is free of unethical practices, revelry and confrontations.
