Livestock distributed to beneficiaries

The Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services under Kangpokpi Autonomous District Council, provided chicks to around 125 beneficiaries of Kangpokpi district.
The Department is equipped with funds for distribution of livestock animals like chicks, goats and pigs under the National Livestock Mission to the beneficiaries in the district.
The Director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services Dr H Chaoba stated that the tender process for selection of the beneficiaries will be done at the earliest.
In today's programme, which is the second phase of such distribution in Kangpokpi district, Dr H Chaoba handed over 20 rainbow roaster chicks each to the 60 beneficiaries selected by the Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Dr H Chaoba expressed that the Department has been carrying out its duty with regard to the various schemes to ensure it reached the beneficiaries, although they are faced with many obstacles due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Encouraging the beneficiaries to nurture and look after the chicks, the Director hoped that it will benefit them during this hard time.
He also informed that the beneficiaries of Churachandpur district will receive similar livestocks soon.
Funds have been released for the State under National Livestock Mission which will be utilised for distribution of livestock animals to the beneficiaries, he said and added that the selection of beneficiaries will be done as soon as the e-tender process of the scheme ends.
