IRB CO completes anti-terror course

The CO of 2nd IRB did not only participate in the counter measure course against explosions related with terrorism and insurgency sponsored by the United States' State Department but also won an appreciation award.
2nd IRB CO, HT Gangte arrived at Imphal yesterday after completing the two months course.
Talking to The Sangai Express, HT Gangte said that he learnt a lot from the training course.
He also hailed the high level professionalism of the United States Police.
For the training course, he Ministry of Home Affairs invited one police officer from each State and different units of central paramilitary forces.
Out of 100 police officers nominated for the course, only 15 were given the opportunity to take part in the training course.
During the training course which started from April and concluded in May, the participants were given training on counter measures against explosions related with terrorism or insurgency.
The course also dealt on possible counter measures that should be taken up in the event of large scale disasters.
HT Gangte said that the United States Police were highly professional and they were given training in a very systematic manner.
Notably, Gangte earned the distinction of being a course leader during the training session.
In recognition of his exceptional performance, the United States Department honoured HT Gangte with an appreciation award.
The US States Department has already imparted similar training to the police personnel of Bangladesh, Kuwait and Lebanon.
