Imphal, March 22 2017:
The Alliance for Socialist Unity Kangleipak (ASUK) has accused a teacher of Bright Career Academy, Thiyam Leishangkhong of helping students during the ongoing Class X exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) .
A press release issued by ASUK Campaign for National Regeneration (CNR), Special Task Force (STF) commander alleged that Biology teacher of Bright Career Academy Yumnam Chandramani alias Inaotomba s/o late Y Tondon helped his own students at Wangoi Private Centre on March 17 thereby encouraging the students to use unfair means during examinations.
Yumnam Chandramani was misleading students and he was using education as a business enterprise.
The matter is of serious concern to the CNR's Special Task Force, it said.
The way BSEM has been conducting class X exam has many loopholes and flaws.
One major flaw of the examination system is giving exam duty to teachers at the exam centres where students taught by the same teachers are appearing the exam.
This enable teachers to help their students and the students get opportunity to use unfair means.
There are reports about teachers helping students like Y Chandramani and students using unfair means at most exam centres.
As such, STF would take up necessary action, it conveyed.
It also expressed keen desire for BSEM to review the rules and regulations under which Class X exam is conducted.
Like Y Chandramani, Wangoi Private Centre OC Yumnam Radheshyam is equally culpable for saying nothing when Chandramani helped the students.
Wangoi Higher Secondary School Lecturer Yumnam Radheshyam (60) of Wabagai and Yumnam Chandramani alias Inaotomba of Yumnam Huidrom Mayai Leikai should communicate with the STF at the earliest, it conveyed.
