Bridge repaired, security meet conducted

Imphal, May 28 2023: An Army column with the help of villagers of Wainem, Imol and Irengbam repaired the Wainem bridge in minimum possible time made it ready for movement of men and material.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the Army received information that few miscreants tried to damage the Wainem bridge and dislocated three panels.

Immediately the nearest Army column responded to the call and reached the incident site with a recovery vehicle.

The bridge was found partially damaged and in need of urgent repairing to facilitate unhindered movement of vehicles, which the army column executed with help of the locals.

On the other-hand, Assam Rifles conducted secu-rity and coordination meet with civil administration at Chassad to ascertain the security situation and discuss the prevailing internal situation in Manipur.

According to PRO IGAR (S), representative of various intelligence/security agencies operating in Chassad area, like SB, SIB, police and Forest Department attended the meeting convened to discuss about movement of anti-national elements and review the present situation.
