Seminar on 'Sustainable Development' commences

A two-day national seminar on 'Multidisciplinary approach towards sustainable development' organised by RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education (RKSDCE) under the aegis of Leirik Memorial Charitable Society, got underway on Friday at RKSDCE seminar hall, Asha-Jina Complex, North AOC.
As chief guest of the inauguration function, DM University vice chancellor Prof N Rajmuhon recounted the declaration of education as one of the fundamental pillars of human rights at the 1958 UNESCO world conference and opined that the conference is not only relevant with the objective of the UNESCO event but also help in fruition of the National Education Policy 2020 and Sustainable Development Goal.
Pointing out the importance of education in achieving the goal of sustainable development, N Rajmuhon said that the NEP 2020 envisions expediting the country's economic development, establish egalitar ian society and promote quality education.
Among others, the programme was attended by Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh's Department of Education Professor Elizabeth Hangsing, Manipur University Department of English head professor Irom Gam-bhir Singh and Leirik Memorial Charitable Society secretary Jina Thongram.
