7 villages reaffirm stand to remain part of Senapati district

Senapati, August 26 2024: Seven villages under Mayangkhang and T-Khullen area have reiterated their stand to remain part of Senapati district.

The seven villages include Tumuyon Khullen, Kajanga, M Ningthoupham, Mayangkhang, Mayang-khang Khunou, Maremei and Takaimei B .

The JAC of Mayang-khang & T-Khullen Area on District Boundary claimed that Mayangkhang and T-Khullen area belong to Senapati since the creation of the district.

It said the areas fall under the Senapati District Headquarters Notified Area and their representatives are members of Karong Sena-pati Town Committee (KSTC) .

The JAC said the villages must not be bifurcated to become part of Kangpokpi district and added it also strongly opposes the design to reorganize police jurisdiction through a notification/order issued by the Deputy Secretary (Home) .

If any alteration or bifurcation of land and police jurisdiction is made without due consultation of the stakeholders, the 7 villages may be compelled to take up intense democratic form of agitation to oppose the attempt tooth and nail, the JAC warned.

There must not be any land bifurcation or change in police jurisdiction.

The villages shall remain part of Senapati district, said the JAC.
