Condolences continue to pour in Rishang hails late Nipamacha

The Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) has deeply condoled the demise of W Nipamacha, former Chief Minister and 'key founder' of MSCP.
In a statement, the MSCP recalled his role in the formation of the MSCP in 1997, which the late leader founded with an objective to politically take the State at par with other States of the country.
He was against social and political discrimination and central political lording over the States while having a strong desire to exercise freedom in democracy for public good, the MSCP statement said while also adding that Nipamacha had attempted to regain the traditional value of the State.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP and veteran Congressman, Rishang Keishing, who is also former CM of the State, has condoled the death of the former Chief Minister.
In a condolence message, Rishang Keishing, MP reminisced having shared 'close colleagues' political relations with Nipamacha while fondly remembering him as an 'open hearted,' 'outspoken' and 'dependable' person in dealing with affairs of the State.
"Even when political differences arose and we parted, we never treated each other as enemies," Rishang Keishing stated, adding that Manipur has suffered a loss in his death.
The MP also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

At the same time, condoling the death of W Nipamacha, the Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC) President and members observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed leader during an emergency meeting of the MPTC held yesterday at its office, Keishampat.
A condolence message issued by the party general secretary, RK Shivachandra said that unlike other political leaders in Manipur today, the late W Nipamacha had larger goals and commitment in his mind and heart for fellow Manipuris that the generation to come would cherish.
"He was more than a former Chief Minister to us but a man of principle with strong commitment for his State," the party said while remembering him as a rare personality in whom the trait of truthfulness and outspoken nature was well blended.
At the same time, the State-level Gaan-Ngai Celebration Committee, Manipur observed a two minute silence during its meeting as a mark of respect to the departed leader.
In a statement, the committee hailed Nipamacha as the one who took pains for the preservation and promotion of Kabui tradition, custom and culture which was manifested when he declared the biggest Zeliangrong festival, Gaan-Ngai as a general holiday during his Chief Ministership in 2008 .
Other bodies such as Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) Takyelpat; Yumnam Huidrom and Thiyam Leishangkhong United Club; Huyen Lallong Manipur Thangta Cultural Association; All Manipur PHED Workers and Employees' Association; All Manipur Govt Drivers' and Technicians' Association; All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association; and Manipur State Pensioners' Union have also condoled the demise of the former Chief Minister.
