CorCom promises new face of revolution

Imphal, July 07 2014: The Coordination Committee (CorCom) of the six armed opposition groups of the land has categorically stated people of Manipur and Western South East Asia (WESEA) would soon see a new face of the ongoing revolutionary move-ment with its Joint Fighting Force (JFF) determined to step up its armed campaign against the Indian military under the command of the Joint Military Council (JMC) .

This was informed in a press statement issued by CorCom convenor Khun-dongbam Pambei on the occa- sion of the committee's third foundation day (July 8) .

The convenor, on behalf of CorCom , paid homage to all revolutionary cadres as well as civilians who have been killed in the course of the liberation movement.

He also conveyed deep regards to all the leaders and cadres of the member parties in addition to extending solidarity to all the revolutionary cadres and civilians who have been maimed by the action of adversary forces.

The CorCom was set up on July 8, 2011 by seven revolutionary groups (now reduced to six after UPPK's surrender to the State) in accordance to the people's call for unification and with a firm conviction to fight against the alleged colonial Government of India collectively.

CorCom was set up with a vision not only to build up collective strength of all the people of Manipur but also to launch a unified freedom struggle throughout WESEA.

CorCom would fight the colonial forces both militarily and politically.

The foremost task before CorCom is to instill sense of oneness among the people of Manipur and drive away Indian military forces allegedly occupying Manipur.

The second mission is waging a strong war of liberation together with like- minded revolutionary groups of WESEA.

Establishment of CorCom was what was destined to ha-ppen in the course of Mani- pur's revolutionary history.

Just as several revolutionary groups joined together and restored sovereignty of their respective countries, the six revolutionary groups after pushing their parties own' interests to the back burner set up CorCom with a firm conviction that their collective strength can wrest independence and bring about freedom and progress.

CorCom is the soul of the revolutionary movement and it is the sole representative of the people of Manipur, claimed the convenor's statement.

CorCom, during the last three years, has made successful strides in different sectors.

All subordinate bodies and sub-committees like Home Committee, Regional Affairs Committee, External Affairs Committee, Publicity Committee, Base Area Committee, Financial Affairs Committee and the Joint Military Commission's Joint Fighting Force have been working actively in their respective areas.

Waging war collectively is the principal force for forging unity.

Successful execution of the duty and responsibility entrusted to JFF would not only enable CorCom to reinforce its strength but can also ensure victory of the liberation movement.

Colonial experience of contemporary Manipur is also shared by all the people of WESEA, the convenor.

The decision to fight the Government of India collectively was conditioned by the shared colonial experience, and affinity among the people of WESEA in terms of topography, race, culture.

For all these reasons, to wage a collective war of liberation together with like minded revolutionary groups of WESEA is intrinsic to all the revolutionary movements of the region, asserted convenor Pambei.
