Victim's mother slaps rape accused

Yumnam Naocha (21), the prime accuse of an alleged rape case was slapped and thrashed by the mother of the minor victim when the accused was brought out of the Court room after he was remanded to judicial custody till November 28 at Cheirap Court complex today.
One woman belonging to the victim's locality was also hurt when a stone deflected from a police vehicle hit her head.
A large group of people belonging to the victim's locality gathered at Cheirap Court complex since morning after getting information that the rape accused would be produced before the POCSO Special Court, Imphal East.
When the accused was brought to Cheirap Court complex, the angry locals tried to attack the accused but police somehow managed to control the situation and took him inside the Court room and drove back the angry locals outside the Court complex.
The accused was produced before the Court by the IO of the case under FIR number 59(11)2016 Women Police Station, Imphal East under section 6 of POCSO Act 2012 and prayed for judicial custody of the accused till November 28 .
After hearing the submission, the Court remanded the accused to judicial custody till November 28 .
As the accused was brought out from the Court complex, he was slapped and assaulted by the mother of the minor victim.
Police somehow managed to pull the accused inside their vehicle and took him away from the Court complex.
Angry locals who were outside the Court complex attacked the police vehicle in which the accused was transported by pelting stones and other hard objects.
In the process, one woman was hit by a stone on her head which is suspected to have deflected from the police vehicle.
The alleged rape of a minor girl occurred in Imphal East district and the matter came to light after the father of the victim lodged a written complaint before Imphal East women Police Station alleging that his three years and 10 months old daughter was allegedly sexually assaulted by the accused Yumnam Naocha (21) on November 5 morning when he along with his wife went to attend cremation of his wife's grandfather.
According to the complaint, a younger brother of the accused took the young girl along with him at around 8 am of November 5 and later at around 10 am and 10.30 am, the accused Yumnam Naocha sexually assaulted the minor.
At around 9 pm of the same day, the victim complained of pain at her abdomen.
On inspection, the mother saw some seminal stain on the half pant of the victim after which they took the victim to a CHC and the attending doctor opined that the girl was sexually assaulted.
On asking the minor, it came to light that she was sexually assaulted by the accused.
The accused was produced before the Duty Magistrate Imphal East on November 10 and was remanded to police custody of Women Police Station Imphal East till today.
