Imphal, April 16 2024:
Condemning in the strongest terms attack carried out by suspected Kuki militants on petroleum and LPG tankers in in Tamenglong district on Tuesday, Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) contended that the central government should be held responsible for all unwanted incidents happening along the national highways.
In a release, FOCS took serious note of the attack carried out by suspected Kuki militants on the trucks inflicting injuries on drivers and causing damages to five trucks.
Pointing out that attacks by armed miscreants along the Imphal-Jiribam road had been occurring for the last many years, the release noted that drivers have been tolerating such acts of atrocities simply in the interest of the public.
The central government unable to take firm actions against the culprits is the main reason for misfortune befalling upon the transporters, it said.
