AR celebrates Raksha Bandhan across state

Assam Rifles celebrated Raksha Bandhan in various districts of the state on Monday.
The event at Nambol, Bishnupur featured a series of engaging activities, including traditional Raksha Bandhan rituals in which local women tied rakhis around the wrists of Assam Rifles personnel as a symbol of goodwill and protection.
The soldiers reciprocated with festive treats and shared stories.
At Kwatha under Tengnoupal district, Assam Rifles celebrated the occasion with women tying rakhis around AR personnel, symbolising the sacred bond between brothers and sisters.
The troops and villagers also exchanged sweets, reinforcing the trust and camaraderie between the Assam Rifles and the villagers, according to PRO IGAR (S) .
Assam Rifles also celebrated Raksha Bandhan at Don Bosco School, Churachandpur during which 35 girl students tied rakhis on the wrist of Assam Rifles troops, solemnising the sibling affection they have towards the troops.
Rooted in rich cultural traditions, Raksha Bandhan transcends the confines of religion and geography, bringing families together in a celebration of unity and care, added the release.
