Villagers, students meet army commanders

With the objective of fostering strong ties with local communities and inspiring youth to join the armed forces, Assam Rifles on April 30 organised 'A Day with Company Commander' at Nampisha village in Kamjong district and Sangaikot village of Churachandpur district.
In release, PRO IGAR (S) stated that the Kamjong meet held at the Nampisha company operating base and participated by 28 local villagers and students were familiarised on organisational structure and operations of Assam Rifles.
The students enjoyed an engaging tour of the company operating base, followed by interactive games, activities and lunch, said the PRO while informing that the Assam Rifles organised a recreational programme for local school children during the Sangaikot meet, conducted with the aim to provide children with a unique insight into the functioning of the company operating base and ignite their passion for joining the Indian armed forces.
The programme included visits to motivational halls, filming of motivational videos, recreational sports activities and a tour of the company area, added the PRO.
