Fire guts empty house in Old Lambulane

Imphal, June 15 2024: A double-storeyed wooden house in Old Lambulane under Imphal Police Station went up in flames at around 5.30pm on Saturday.

According to reports culled from the spot, the fire suddenly broke out at an empty double-storeyed wooden house in Old Lambulane located behind the Old Secretariat at around 5.30pm on Saturday.

On receiving news of the fire, teams of Manipur Fire Service and Imphal PS arrived and took measures to prevent it from spreading to the surrounding areas.

As the inferno became bigger, Manipur Fire Services used fire tenders to prevent it from spreading to nearby houses.

The fire was finally brought under control by late evening.

Meanwhile, Manipur Police DIG, Imphal West District Police SP and other top district police officers have taken stock of the situation.
