Home guards petition CM to pay duty allowance

Imphal, May 03 2024:
Manipur Home Guard Employees' Welfare Association (MHGEWA) president Y Mangi, on behalf of the association, submitted a representation to the chief minister on Friday demanding extension of monthly duty allowance to home guard personnel.
In a release, MHGEWA pointed out that home guards have been diligently discharging their duties of assisting the police in maintaining law and order but without receiving benefit of ration money.
While pointing out that the Association has been urging the government authorities for payment of monthly duty allowance/ pay similar to police and employees of other departments, the release informed that as resolved in the special general body meeting held on April 28 at Ima Khunthokhanbi Shanglen, DMU campus and resolution of managing committee's meeting on Thursday, the association president submitted the representation to chief minister to provide duty allowance to the home guard personnel considering their plight and inconveniences.
