Sit-in decries 'unfair' monetary demand

Imphal, August 20 2024: Teaching and non-teaching staff of Pravabati College, Mayang Imphal, along with local clubs and meira paibis on Tuesday staged sit-in protest against exorbitant monetary demand served against the college.

The protestors held placards inscribed with slogans 'Stop excessive monetary demand to the college' and 'Help the college in development' among others.

In a release, the principal informed that the aided college is run by fifth pay salary of 10 teachers, principal and non-teaching staffers.

Moreover, their salary has been unpaid for the last 29 months.

So, the principal urged not to make unfair monetary demand considering the plight of teaching and non-teaching staff members as well as in the interest of students and guardians.
