Series of bomb attacks strike Salai BoDs

Imphal, August 26 2024: Unidentified person(s) carried out bomb attacks one after the other at the residences of members of Board of Directors (BoD) of Salai Holdings Private Limited, Tera Loukrakpam Leikai on Sunday.

According to a police report, unidentified person(s) lobbed a hand grenade at the Lalambung Makhong Takhellambam Leikai residence of Salai BoD member Yumlembam Brojendro Singh (60) on Sunday around 9.30pm, which a team of Imphal Police safely retrieved later in the night.

Another bomb attack was carried out at the Kwakeithel Akham Leikai residence of member Akoijam Deepananda (45) s/o Nandalal around 11pm Sunday.

The blast caused some damages but no one was injured.

A team of Lamphel police station inspected the blast site and registered a case for investigation.

Meanwhile, unidentified persons(s) placed a hand grenade at the Lamboi Khongnangkhong Veterinary Leirak residence of another member around 12.30 am Monday.

A team of Lamphel police station safely retrieved the bomb and registered a case.

Mention may be made here that unidentified persons also placed a hand grenade at the residence of Salai BoD Elangbam Brojendro Singh of Keishamthong Elangbam Leirak under Imphal PS on June 27 around 11.30 pm.

Grenade/bomb attacks were also carried out at the front gate of the joint residence of Salai Holdings Private Limited ex-chairman Narengbam Samarjit (52) and BoD member Narengbam Bishwajit (60) at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai on July 14 at around 10.30pm, followed by a similar attack at the Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai residence of member Chingtham Shyamson (46) on the intervening night of July 20 and 21 .
