Widows' Day, Women in Diplomacy observed

Assam Rifles commemorated International Widows' Day by organising special events for widows in Nambol, Bishnupur district on Sunday to honour their resilience and sacrifice, and provide them a day of joy and camaraderie with the security forces.
The event was attended by 68 widows from different caste, creed, culture, and religion across the state.
Held within the premis es of Assam Rifles location, the ladies participated in a variety of activities.
AsSam Rifles expressed gratitude to the participants for their presence and emphasised the importance of recognising the sacrifices made by these courageous women by giving gifts and prizes.
The event fostered a spirit of solidarity and warmth, with participants sharing their experiences and stories, reminding everyone of their strength and resilience in the face of adversity, informed a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
Meanwhile, with an aim to advance women's participation in diplomacy and peace processes, Indian Army observed International Day for Women in Diplomacy, on Monday.
As part of the event held under the theme "Empowering Women, Empowering Communities", Indian Army organised awareness drive along with holding a felicitation seminar.
The event was attended by members of meira paibi associations of Andro area.
During the event, lecture programmes were conducted, focusing on discussing the challenges women encounter in education, employment and healthcare.
