Noney, August 20 2024:
Normal life was badly affected in Noney district by impact of the indefinite bandh called by the Rongmei Naga Council Manipur Ntai-Phay Luangrian (RNCM-NTL) along NH-37 and Tongjei Maril roads.
On the second day of the agitation on Tuesday, all types of vehicles were off the two roads as bandh supporters including women blocked the roads by laying tree trucks/bamboos and stacking boulders in the middle of the roads.
Bandh supporters also obstructed movement of security forces through blocked roadways.
The indefinite bandh started from the midnight of August 18 in pursuance of RNCM-NTL's demand for Alternative Arrangement for Administrative Convenience to Noney district for areas inhabited by minority Naga tribes in the foothills of Kangpokpi and Churachandpur districts.
