Lamka, September 10 2015 : With the JAC's 60 hours total bandh winding up midnight Thursday, the JAC has today decided to briefly lift the agitation tomorrow from 5 am till 12 noon but maintained that the agitation will resume thereafter again.

Tribal MLAs failing to tender their resignation from the State Assembly after midnight today will face public boycott as was announced earlier.

In a statement, the JAC has appealed to all to be prepared for a long haul as they themselves don't know how long the movement will take to attain its logical conclusion.

They have also claimed that a more organised and structured form of agitation is in the offing, and accordingly urged for the involvement of every soul for the seamless execution of those plans as and when they roll them out.

The JAC has also set-up a separate finance sub-committee to oversee the donations made to help the families of the 'tribal martyrs' and those who are wounded as it had already decided to refuse any form of ex-gratia or compensation from the Government.

The JAC also claimed that a team of ADC members led by the chairman of ADC Churachandpur had on Wednesday left for Delhi, with the knowledge of the JAC, to pursue the Central Government to look into the collective desire of the State tribal for a separate administration outside the Government of Manipur.

Meanwhile, women groups again ensured that there are no let-up in the protest as they held rallies in limited numbers and shouted slogans demanding a separate political administrative set-up and crisscrossed the streets the entire day.

Some even wore sackcloth, stretched out on the streets and prayed to save their land from annihilation.

Still there is no word on how and when the dead bodies will be laid to rest.

Women from far and near have been holding condolence meetings in front of the mortuary since last week every day on rotational basis and were overseen by the Joint Philanthropic Organisations.

There are gossips of several MLAs from the district tendering their resignation today but nothing can be factually confirmed.

When queried, the JAC Co-ordinator (Adm) Lalkhohao Chongloi said they have verbally heard about it but maintained that in the absence of any material evidence the communication is still considered unofficial.
