Imphal, October 03 2021:
Protest denouncing the cold blooded murder of former president of Zeliangrong Baudi Athuan Abonmai showed no sign of waning as sit in protests continued at different parts of the State, today.
Today, sit in protests were staged at Sawombung Duigaipangjang, Sawongbung Siren Village and Namthanpung village, Sanjenthong under the aegis of JAC Against the Brutal Murder of Athaun Abonmai.
During the demonstrations, placards that read "We Want Justice'', Where is law of the land", "No Justice no peace", "Arrest the culprit immediately ", "Justice delayed is justice denied" and Justice for Abonmai" were displayed.

At Sawombung Duigaipangjang, one elder protester stated that the way Athuan Abonmai was killed is bestial and not of human nature while another protester at Sawongbung Siren Village maintained that there should always be a room for negotiation when in disagreement instead of taking the extreme step.
Saying that nothing worthwhile can be achieved from bloodshed and violence, the protester urged all to shun such violence in future.
It is worth mentioning that Athuan Abonmai was murdered momentarily after abduction from Apollo ground at Tamenglong where an Government outreach programme was held on September 22 .
