A group of women from Tuibuong area under the aegis of Tuibuong Women Welfare Association today held a sit-in protest in front of the SBI Tuibuong branch to lodge their protest against the attempt to loot the bank, and urged the Govt to book the culprits.
The SBI branch located within the fortified walls of the district's military garrison which houses the commander of 27 Sector AR and the district SP, was breached by burglars on Tuesday night.
They seem to have made their way inside the bank premises after digging a hole on the concrete wall but allegedly failed to rob any cash as they could not open the cash vault.
The incident came to light only after the bank employees entered the bank to resume their daily chores, said a source.
The women protesters today said the burglary attempt on the bank which is of crucial service to the public demean the society.
They demanded that the culprits should be hunted down and immediately booked for their action even as they question how such break-in could possibly take place at the first place.
The attempt also highlights the despicable state of standards maintained when the Government constructs a building, said Rebecca, secretary of TWWA adding the building walls could be scratched-off even with bare hand.
With the SBI saying its treasures are intact despite the shocking loot attempt, normal transaction was resumed today after closing it for a day and repairing the dug-out wall.
