Noney, November 27 2024:
After a week-long effort by the Ganpati Construction Company to clear rockslides and boulders at Nungdolan, Kharam Pallen, along NH-37, vehicular movement resumed on Wednesday under tight security convoys.
The resumption of traffic has allowed loaded and empty trucks to operate normally on this vital lifeline.
On Wednesday, as many as 275 loaded trucks reached Imphal, while 172 empty trucks crossed Noney en route to Jiribam to transport essential goods.
Additionally, more than 70 loaded vehicles, including oil tankers and LPG carriers, arrived here for an overnight halt.
To ensure safety, the construction company has implemented a nightly closure of the road at the Nungdolan rockslide zone due to the presence of hanging rocks or boulders.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area during these hours and light vehicles recommended to use the Bishnupur- Tupul road as an alternative route for added safety.
