BJP hosts reception programme for new members

A reception programme to welcome newly enrolled BJP members was organised by BJP Nungba Mandal and BJP Booth Level Committee, Tupul, at Tupul community hall, Noney district, on Wednesday.
The event was attended by Hill Areas Committee chairman and Nungba MLA Dinganglung Gangmei and as chief guest and Nungba mandal president Makuphun Rongmei as functional president while BJP Manipur Pradesh ST Morcha president Lanjaigai Kamei, ST Morcha vice president Stody Dangmei, and BJP Tamenglong district president Daniel Malangmei were the guests of honour.
A total of 88 households from across Phoibut, Taukuamjang, Namduanjang, and Chakanlong-Tupul villages enrolled themselves as new BJP members during the programme.
Prominent individuals who joined the BJP included Abon Gonmei, vice-president Tamenglong District Congress Committee; Adai Kamei, former NPF candidate in the Noney ADC circle election; and Ningmei Kamei, chairman Charoi-Tupul village.
Addressing the gathering, Dinganglung underscored the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence to foster prosperity in the region.
He cautioned against divisive politics rooted in clanism or communalism and lauded the newly enrolled members for their decision to join the BJR noting its commitment to uplift and inclusive development.
Highlighting the party's values, the HAC chairman stated that the BJP is not a communal party but a party that believes in 'positive secularism'.
He also mentioned the numerous developmental projects implement in Noney district, as well as projects in the pipeline.
The new members were welcomed with presentation of BJP mufflers and caps as a gesture of inclusion.
The event witnessed participation from many party leaders and workers.
