Edibles provided to flood victims

Thoubal, August 26 2024: Under the auspices of MLA Paonam Brojen, BJP Wangjing Tentha Mandal distributed edibles to residents of the relief camp set up at Tekcham Primary School, who have displaced due to flooding.

The relief material distribution led by Mandal president O Sunilkumar also included general secretary Th Brajakishor, secretary M Kanta, MLA's PRO S Jayedeba, executive members H Biren, H Ibochou, Ng Surjit, S Dilip, U Sanahalbi and U Romila among others.

Soibam Devan, member of the All Tekcham United Clubs Organisation, which manages the relief camp, expressed gratitude to the MLA for the support and assistance provided to the flood-affected families.

Meanwhile, to address frequent flooding in Wabagai area, MLA Dr Usham Deben has initiated projects to sanitise the drainage systems and other water channels in the area.

After inspecting the cleansing work, Dr Deben informed the media that blockages in drains and water channels have led to flooding of homes, paddy fields and fish farms at Wabagai Kadajit, Makha Leikai Ibudhou Pakhangba, Terapishak and Mayang Imphal.

The cleanup efforts are being carried but with the support of the Citizen Association for Rural Development (CARD), Wabagai, as well as local clubs from Wabagai Kadajit and Wabagai Terapishak.
