Low turnout marks mass testing, 93 test positive

Imphal, June 10 2021: As the district administration of Imphal West continued mass Covid-19 testing exercise in 22 locations on Thursday, turnout remains low with only 1709 individuals coming out for voluntary testing of which results of 93 individuals returned positive for Covid-19.As per report received from the district administration, number of positive cases and number of samples tested at different sites were 3 positive cases out of 72 samples tested at Paobitek Maning Leikai, 4 out of 85 at Irom Leikai, 8 out of 107 at Haoreibi, 1 out of 63 at Maklang Makha Leikai, 4 out of 119 at Luker, 5 out of 192 at Lamlongei, 12 out of 98 at Singjamei Hao Ground, 5 out of 161 at Uripok Bachaspati Leikai, 6 out of 101 at Thangmeiband Tarung, 5 out of 84 at Tera Tongbram Leikai, 4 out of 95 at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai, 8 out of 100 at Konthoujam Maning leikai, 2 out of 47 at PHC Samurou, 3 out of 5 at Samushang, 3 out of 12 at Tera Thingbaijam Leikai, 16 out of 122 at PHC Mayang Imphal, and 4 out of 39 at Sekmaijin.

On the other hand, 128 samples were tested at Taobungkhok, 57 at Airport, 15 at Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai and 7 at Thangmeiband Sana Keithel but no positive cases were detected.

No samples were tested at TG Higher Secondary School on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a statement issued by DC Imphal West Th Kirankumar informed that mass testing will be conducted on Friday at Langthabal Kunja Mayai Leikai, Konjeng Lamdong, Kwakeithel Leimakhujam Leikai, Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai, Uripok Ba- chaspati Leikai, Uripok Polem Leikai, Taothong, Lamdeng, Khurkhul Makha Leikai, Kanglatongbi, Awang Khunou, Changangei Ucheckon, Changangei Maning Leikai and Kangmong Tong- bram Leikai.
