Two killed in accident, one injured

Imphal, August 26 2024: At least two people were killed and one left injured after a YamahaR15 struck a pedestrian at Ghari Makha Leikai on August 23, killing the rider and a male pedestrian, while leaving the pillion rider injured.

According to a police report, on August 23 around 9.45 pm, a silver-black colour Yamaha R15 (MN01AQ-5296) coming from Malom towards Kwakeithel side struck an unknown male pedestrian in front of Ladies Rent House at Ghari Makha Leikai along Tiddim road.

As a result of which, the rider and the pillion rider along with the pedestrian suffered severe injuries and were evacuated to Asian Hospital & Research Institute, Kwakeithel Bazar.

However, both the rider and the unknown pedestrian were declared brought dead by the doctors.

In this regard, Lamphel Police Station has registered a case.

The deceased rider has been identified as one RK Bharatsana (19) s/o Pratap of Naoremthong, while identity of the deceased pedestrian is yet to be known.

Meanwhile, the OC of Lamphel PS informed via a press release that body of the male pedestrian is being kept at RIMS mortuary for identification.

The deceased male seems to be around 40 years of age with wheatish complexion and around 5.3ft in height.

The deceased has a slim body with cropped hair and attired in a blue and white half shirt, a yellow t-shirt and a grey colour trousers.

If not claimed by August 29, then the body will be disposed of as per the law.
