NE Live should clarify for misleading footage: PDDUIAS

The faculty of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Institute of Agricultural Science (PDDUIAS), Utlou have demanded NE Live editor in chief Wasbir Hussain to clarify why the footage of a demonstration workshop on usage of drone in agriculture was telecasted by the channel in connection with the turmoil in Manipur.
Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club, here, on Saturday, PDDUIAS, Utlou faculty member Dr Senjam Dinesh pointed out that during a discussion programme led by editor in chief Wasbir Hussain on the NE Live channel on Friday, a video footage of a person operating a drone was shown.
The said video clip is of a demonstration conducted by a Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT) 5th semester student during a one-day workshop organised by the institute under the aegis of NABARD on Training of Field Worker of NGO and Hands on Workshop on Robotic and Drone Application in Horticulture Crop' held on January 29, he said.
Mentioning that broadcasting of the footage by Wasbir Hussain in connection with ongoing crisis in the state was very unfortunate, Dinesh emphasised that it will not only mislead the people of the state but also the country.
He further reiterated that NE Live should immediately clarify on telecasting of the bogus news using a video of an academic workshop by connecting it with the prevailing conflict in the state.
