Delivering her speech during a one-day awareness programme on issue of child rights at Patsoi Uningkhong bazaar community hall in Imphal West, AK Mirabai further sent a strong message to all concerned to stop misguiding and harassing of children for any purpose.
She said enquiries into the recent series of crimes against children have started under the MCPCR implemented since 2012, and that all the culprits involved in the incidents of rape and murder of children will be brought to justice.
There had been many cases of child trafficking, the minister said and added that the Social Welfare Department played important role in bringing such children back to the state from several states.
Concerning Old Age Pension, Mirabai said the state Cabinet has given its approval to her Department to resume the earlier pension amount payment mode after certain difficulties were detected in withdrawing the money from banks by the beneficiaries.
