Imphal, October 14 2015:
JAC against the closing of Pong Lambi by JNIMS Authority, Kongpal Kongkham Leikai, Imphal East has threatened to obstruct all activities of JNIMS indefinitely if the authorities fail to re-open the Pong Lambi by October 25 .
During a press meet at Manipur Press Club here on Wednesday, convener of the JAC L Tomba said that the Pong Lambi for villagers of Kongpal and other nearby villages has been blocked by JNIMS hospital authorities.
People have been using the road even before JN Hospital (now JNIMS) was established.
Pong Lambi has been the main road to connect these villagers with Tinsid Road, DC Road and others.
L Tomba said that Pong Lambi has remained obstructed when JN Hospital became JNIMS Hospital.
As a result, villagers residing on the eastern side of the hospital have been forced to face many difficulties.
The locals have already submitted memorandums many times to Manipur Government, JNIMS Hospital Authority and local MLAs of Khurai, Lamlai and Kshetrigao, said Tomba to re-open the road to the people, but without a positive response, he said.
Manipur Government and JNIMS authority should re-open the wall constructed on Pong Lambi by October 25, demanded Tomba and warned that the JAC will totally block the activities of JNIMS hospital indefinitely from October 26 onwards if the authorities fail to fulfill the demand.
Manipur Government and JNIMS authority should be held responsible for any unwanted incidents, said Tomba while adding that the three local MLAs, Bijoy, Amin Shah and Ksh Biren will also be boycotted by the JAC.
