State students leave for participation in IIT training

Imphal, October 14 2015:
Forty-Nine selected students from different Government and private schools left for New Delhi today to participate in a three-month IIT training programme at Delhi Public School, Rajbagh under the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
The selected students were officially flagged off by the Education (S) Secretary H Deleep from Imphal airport today.
Speaking to mediapersons, H Deleep said the Education (S) Department selected 49 (24 boys and 25 girls) of standard XII students from different Government and private schools through PPP model under the funding of the State Planning Department for the training.
The training programme will begin from October 16 and continue till the middle of January next year.
The initiative was taken up by the State Government in collaboration with Pace IIT-ians, New Delhi.
The department is mulling arrangement of similar training programmes for medical students starting from next year, the Education (S) Secretary further conveyed.
