Kakching, December 28 2024: The 61st foundation day and annual conference of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Tripura was held at Sahitya Aka-demi Hall, Nazrul Kalakshetra Complex, Agartala, Tripura on December 25.The annual awards given by MSP Tripura were also presented to the awardees during the programme.

The programme was attended by Tripura MLA Yelam Birjit as chief guest, MSP Tripura president Langoljam Birmangal as president and veteran columnist Wangkhem Birmangal as guest of honour, while Agartala Municipal Corporation former mayor Dr RK Pafullajit and Visva Bharati Shantiniketan assistant professor Dr Sumit Basu were present as special guests.

The event started with paying of floral tributes to photos of MSP Tripura founders and litterateurs Keithellakpam Chandra Kumar, Gurumayum Rajeshwar Sharma, Rajkumar Kamaljit and other elders.

MSP Tripura's annual journal '52nd Takhen Leirang' was also released during the function.

As part of the programme, Ningthoukhongjam Chandrahas Ningshing Mana was presented to 'Pung' artiste Konsam Bhagya Singha; Rajkumar Surendrajit-Sija Bidhu Memorial Award to Nata Sankirtana artiste Thokchom Gulapi; Dr Bhupendranath Singh Memorial Award to 'Khunung Eeshei' artiste Safikur Rahman; Leishangthem Gokul Memorial Award to physician Dr Takhelchangbam Arindam Datta; Dr Tonabam Birendrachandra Memorial Award for Literature to RK Jitendrajit; Khoisnam Babu-chandra Singh Memorial Award to 'Lairik Thiba' artiste Maisnam Haridas; Yumnam Chandrakirti Literary Award for Manipuri Culture and Literature Outside Manipur to MSP Meghalaya president Ningthoujam Munish and Ningthoukhonggjam Dilipkumar Sahitya Mana 2024 to Nongshatabam Niranjan Datta.
