Imphal, September 10 2015 :
A total of 56 oil tankers and seven LPG bullet trucks reached Imphal on Thursday afternoon after passing through the National Highway 2 with heavy security escort.
On the other hand, around 350 loaded trucks are being set to leave Jiribam for Imphal along the National Highway 37 (Imphal-Jiribam) on Friday morning, according to sources.
A source from the Mao Police Station said that the 63 trucks had crossed the Mao Gate on Thursday morning around 11.30 and reached Imphal safely with the security escort.
Around 200 stranded trucks from Manipur had already crossed Phesama of Nagaland, where a major landslide was occurred last month.
Nagaland DC and BRTF are now allowing only light vehicles and goods-laden trucks to cross the Phesama road while other vehicles including passenger services have remained stranded due to the bad condition of the road.
