Teachers, authors urged to apply for awards

Imphal, December 13 2024: Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has encouraged teachers to apply for Chingu Maichou Khongnangthaba Khonga (CHI-MAKHA Khonga) Award, 2024.In a release, DESAM secretary education Oinam Romesh urged teachers to submit application for the award within December 20 .

The award will be distributed on its foundation day on January 3.Personal details, recommendations of school head, ZEO concerned, club or Meira Paibi of the area of their respective school with their letter head and activities as a teacher should be included in the application and submitted to DESAM head office, Kwakeithel, and Kakching, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Imphal East, Imphal West and Jiribam district councils.

Meanwhile, Writers' Platform, Manipur (WRITPLAT) also called for submission of books published between 2023 to January 10, 2025 for several awards.

In a release, WRITPLAT informed that eligible/ select authors would be considered for the WRITPLAT International Award, RK Pakasana & Haobam Ningol Ningthemcha Ongbi Amurei Shija Ningshing Mana, Naorem Meino Singh Ningshing Loinasillon Mana, Thingjaibam Khongnem Singh Mana, Ibudhou Pakhangba Amasoong Leisna Epalical Mana, Moirangthem Ningol Sinam Ongbi Ningolleima Leima Loinashillon Ningshing Mana, WRITPLAT President's Loinashillon Mana, Kangbam Chaoba Meetei Loinashillon Sheireng Mana, Hirom Tomba Meitei Ningshing Loinashillon (Short Story) Award and Sagolshem Kokil Ningshing Translation Award.

It invited interested writers to submit three copies of their book, bio-data of the writer and two passport photos to WRITPLAT office, Lang-dum in Imphal East within January 10.However, books which received awards in previous years will not be selected, it informed, while adding that the award distribution function will be held on WRITPLAT foundation day on January 10 at Manipur Press Club Loktak Hall.
