Medical services ceased in districts

Medical services except for emergency ceased in districts owing to the nationwide strike called by Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Saturday in protest against the brutal rape and murder of a post-graduate doctor at R G Kar Medical College, Kolkata, West Bengal on August 9.The strike was supported by medical fraternities of District Hospital, Bishnupur; CHC, Nambol; CHC, Moirang; PHC, Kumbi; PHC, Kwakta; CHC, Kakching; CHC, Sugnu; PHC, Pallel; PHC, Hiyanglam; PHC, Kakching Khunou; PHC, Wangoo Laipham and Urban PHC, Kakching along with private hospitals such as Jivan Hospital, Kakching, Ema Hospital, Kakching and Sun Hospital, Wabagai Lamkhai by wearing black badges and stopping the OPD services.
Meanwhile, Churachandpur Doctors' Association, in a statement, strongly condemned the recent attack on doctors at RG Kar Medical College Hospital in Kolkata and conveyed solidarity with doctors across the country.
