Kakching celebrates 33rd Manipuri Language Day

Kakching, August 20 2024:
The 33rd Manipuri Language Day was organised by Writers' Association, Kakching at the auditorium of Representatives of Lois (RoL), Kakching Phoushupat Leikai, on Tuesday.
The function was attended by ex-minister Thokchom Tomba and Writers' Association president Pukhrambam Nimai as chief guest and president respectively while retired assistant teacher Naorem Tababi Devi and retired MPS and Sahitya Akademi Awardee Moirangthem Rajen were present as guests of honour.
The 33rd Manipuri Language Day was also celebrated in Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala organised by Directorate of Kokborok and Other Minority Language, government of Tripura.
The function was attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation mayor Dipak Majumder and Kokborok and Other Minority Language director Ratnajit Debbarma as chief guest and president respectively.
Advisory Committee for the Development of Manipuri Language, Tripura vice president Thoudam Nilakumar, Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura president Langoljam Birmangal, senior journalist Manindra Konsam, Sahitya Akademi New Delhi Manipuri Language Advisory Board member Khoisnam Birala were the guests of honour of the function.
Symposiums, poets' meet, cultural programmes and felicitation of renowned personalities were some main events of the function.
