Imphal, August 17 2024: The Thadou Community International (TCI) has called the Thadou Tribe Council (TTC) "a bogus entity" and accused it of spreading misinformation and misleading the public.

The Thadou Tribe Council (TTC), which at best is confined to Churachandpur Tuibong area and controlled by some Kuki supremacists for their cheap nefarious agenda, shouldn't be trusted and people shouldn't be deceived by their misinformation, said the TCI.

In a rebuttal issued against TTC's press statement on August 14, the TCI said it rejects the false and baseless claims by the "fake" Thadou Tribe Council (TTC) that TCI is a "bogus entity" formed by non-resident Thadou individuals.

"The fact is that the fake TTC is the one that is bogus and that it is nothing but a creation of anti-Thadou vested interests and Kuki supremacists with an aim to pursue anti-Thadou misinformation propaganda to cause confusion and misunderstanding in the community," TCI said.

It said the TCI is formed by genuine people from Thadou community from every nook and corner of the world, including the USA, the UK, Noway, Australia, Myanmar, India, Singapore, Macau, Malaysia, who share a common passion, vision and goal of defending the rights and best interests, and promoting the welfare, of the Thadou community.

The TCI currently has two convenors and 30 other executive members representing all countries where Thadous live.

In pursuit of Thadou interest and its motto, that is, peace, justice, courage, liberty and unity, TCI is committed to addressing issues of the rampant and ongoing injustices, persecution and human rights abuse against members of Thadou community, it said.

The TCI continued that it remains committed to its mission of uniting and empowering the Thadou community locally as well as globally.

"We will not be deterred by any individuals and organisations who do not have concerns for the welfare of the Thadou people, be it external or from within the community.

TCI will continue to pursue the path of justice, peace and non-violent resolutions for Thadou people regardless of geographical locations," it said.

"The claim of TTC-GHQ that they are the apex body of the Thadou Tribe is ridiculous and laughable as TTC was renamed as Thadou Inpi at the Thadou Conclave Declaration, 2015 and since then TTC ceased to exist," TCI said.

Following the news of the formation of the "fake TTC" in Churachandpur in January this year, Thadou Inpi and TSA have issued clarifications about the non-existence and "fakeness" of the so-called TTC, asking the anti-Thadou propagandists to stop their misinformation, said the TCI.

"We would like to advise the general public and the media to be not misled and deceived by misinformation from TTC and not to entertain any press release in the name of Thadou Tribe Council (TTC) which at best is confined to Churachandpur Tuibong area and controlled by some Kuki supremacists for their cheap nefarious agenda," TCI said.
