Imphal, February 22 2022:
Former Chief Minister and CLP leader Okram Ibobi has claimed that there is a stark difference in the number of attendance in the public meetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former AICC president Rahul Gandhi and added that such a response is a testimony of people rejecting the Prime Minister and BJP.
The Prime Minister addressed a public meeting at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium today while Rahul Gandi addressed another meeting at Hapta Kangjeibung on February 21 .
Addressing a reception ceremony of Paokholal Haokip who joined the Congress party today at Congress Bhavan today, Okram Ibobi continued that a large number of people showing up to listen to Rahul Gandhi's speech at Hapta Kangjeibung yesterday is a clear indication of Congress popularity among the masses.

Paokholal Haokip who contested the 11th State Assembly election on BJP ticket from Saikot AC joined Congress yesterday.
Saying that the venue of the BJP election campaign at Luwangsangbam is also considerably smaller than Hapta Kangjeibung, the CLP leader contended that the people here have shown their distaste of the BJP and the Prime Minister.
Further claiming that the number of people attending the BJP election rally addressed by the Prime Minister himself was not even half of what was seen at the Congress event at Hapta Kangjeibung yesterday, O Ibobi continued that the Congress has gained the confidence of the masses and as such will form the next Government.
The former Chief Minister thanked all the supporters of the grand old party who showed up yesterday at Hapta Kangjeibung.
The Prime Minister didn't mention anything about the sensitive issues of the State such as AFSPA, unemployment, MSME and price hike in his brief speech, Ibobi claimed.
On the power sector, Ibobi asserted that it was the Congress party which introduced the metre system and installed several power infrastructure in both the hill and valley districts of Manipur.
"Its true that bandhs and blockades were frequent in the past but people know very well of the law and order situation that prevailed during the Congress regime which the party nonetheless solved," Ibobi claimed and added that the involvement of BJP in imposing bandhs and blockades in Manipur could not be ruled out as they had boldly assured to lift the same ahead of the 2017 Assembly election.
There is also a possibility of this party conspiring with anti social and anti National elements with the sole motive to unseat the Congress which ruled the State for 15 years, the CLP leader claimed and asked on what account was the Prime Minister so confident of eliminating bandh and blockade culture from the State.
Such an act is not expected from the Prime Minister, Ibobi said and added that people still remember how a drug kingpin who was arrested along with drugs worth crores of rupees was also released.
The Look East Policy which was introduced by the Congress has been renamed as Act East, the CLP leader continued and claimed that the policy, however, didn't progress a bit after the BJP came to power.
Asking what worthwhile initiatives had the BJP's double engine Government taken up in the last five years other than inaugurating the projects taken up by the grand old party, the former Chief Minister maintained that the saffron party is rather infamous for undermining democracy.
Why is the Prime Minister not speaking anything about not holding the ADC and IMC elections whose terms have already been completed and centering all power on one man, Ibobi asked and urged the people of Manipur to dethrone the BJP in the ensuing election.
