Faculty induction programme begins

A weeklong faculty induction programme for the newly recruited staff of constituent colleges of Central Agricultural University (CAU), commenced from Monday under the theme "Developing Successful Research Grant Proposals" at COA, CAU conference hall in Iroisemba.
Speaking as chief guest of the function organised by Directorate of Instruction, CAU, Imphal, vice chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra mentioned that the induction programme was initiated following the successful completion of the first phase to enhance the capabilities of newly recruited staff and establish an inter-institutional platform for capacity building.
He emphasised the need to shift focus from individual research to collaborative efforts, and foster linkages with other institutions to further the university's development.
Highlighting the significance of education in inclusive development, the vice chancellor called upon that new faculty members and scientists to strive for gaining professional experience by understanding their respective roles and responsibilities.
Presided over by CAU director of Instruction Prof Indira Sarangthem, the function was also attended by Extension Education director Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma, Research director Dr LM Gar-nayak, registrar Dr Tilak Raj Sharma and College of Food Technology, CAU Lamphelpat dean Prof Ng Iboyaima as guests of honour.
The induction programme attended by newly recruited faculties of 13 constituent colleges of CAU and 42 scientists, will have 16 experts from different funding agencies as resource persons in 14 sessions (9 offline and 5 online) .
