Cousin kills woman over Rs 500, mob lynches killer accused

Not long after a person murdered his cousin when she refused to give money he asked from her, the killer was subsequently lynched by an angry mob.
The killing episodes began on November 4 at Moidangpok under Patsoi PS in Imphal West district.
According to a source, Ningthoukhongjam Samananda alias Ibungo (25) s/o Manaobi of Aheibam Maning Leikai went to the place of his cousin, Ningthoukhongjam Chaoba (28.) d/o (L) Kuber of Moidangpok Khunou Mamang Leikai in the morning of November 4 and asked for Rs 500.The two cousins were seen fighting when she allegedly refused to give the money to Samananda.
Till dusk, Chaoba remained traceless.
Curious family members along with locals set out to search for her.
The dead body of Chaoba was recovered from Komjao Lampha around 7.30 pm of Nov 4 .
Suspicious of the conduct of Samananda while dealing with Chaoba earlier in the day, the villagers caught him and interrogated him.
Samananda bluffed the interrogators at first.
But when scratches were found at his face and chest, Samananda could no longer conceal his deed.
Angry mob started attacking Samananda the moment he confessed to the crime.
Samananda succumbed around 3.30am of Nov 5 .
