Ningol Chakkouba celebrated across the State

Ningol Chakkouba, one of the biggest festival of Manipur was widely celebrated across the State on Tuesday.
Apart from celebrating it at every household, different organisations have organised community feast for the sisters at different places of the State on the occasion .
The All Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA) hosted Ningol Chakkouba event at Keishampat Laishom Leikai today with the theme Let us join hands to save out society from drugs HIV and AIDS with a new hope, love and trust today.
The occasion was graced by Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, AK Mirabai; AMADA President M Padamini Leima; RK Ibungosana of NCB and M Shivadutta Luwang, editor of Hueiyen Lanpao (MM) as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively, AMESCO: The All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cul-tural Organisation (AMESCO) has organised its 20th Ningol Chakkouba festival yesterday at Nungsai Chiru village in Senapati district.
The function was attended by leaders like R Benny Chiru, LS Guite,IB Luwang Th D Thangpu, Athai Kamei, Kh Rajendra, Gunachandra Sharma, Ranjita Golmei, Y Mani Khuman, Hayatur Rehman, Kunjarani, Ima Memcha, L Ranjit and S Nando.
JIRIBAM: Series of Ningol Chakkouba feasts for the nigols (sisters) were hosted at different places of Jiribam by different organisations.
Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) has organised a grand feast at JIMPAL office while another such feast was hosted by All Jiribam United Clubs' Association (AJUCA) at Jiribam Sorok Atingbi Hillghat Community Hall.
Cutting across communal line, many women of the area took part in the programme.
Exchange of gifts marked the occasion.
Social leaders like Sinam Tonubabu of SCF; Mutum Hemanta of JDO and Kangbam Subhashini of IMPHAL attended the event organised by JDO while Tahemang of AJTU; M Maipaksana Mangang of AJUCA; Md Badahin; Hena Vaiphei; Priti Malik; Jangsat Haokip and Khaidokhup attended the function organised by AJUCA.

Around 350 sisters from Khudengthabi, Kwatha villages and others from Kuki, Meitei-Pangal, Tamil, Punjabi, Mizo, Vaiphei, Kom and even from Myanmar participate in the eventful occasion.
The event was also attended by Lamboi Gangte, member of ADC Chandel; Pacho Kom.

THOUBAL: Participatory Farmers Development Organi, sation (PFDO), Kakching has organised the 2nd Ching-Tam Ningol Chakkouba Wednesday at Library and Information Centre, Kakching.
Chairperson of Kakching Municipal Council, Ksh Subadani Devi; president of PFDO Ksh Brojen and Lembi and Principal of Good Tiding Kids Centre, Khangshim, Heimoibong Khaling as the Chief guest, president and guests of honour, respectively.
BANGALORE: Manipuri Meitei Association, Bangalore (MMAB) celebrated Ningol Chakouba on Saturday, Nov 2 at All Saints Church, Richmond Road, Bangalore with around 400 people attending the grand feast.
Manipuri film personalities like Sadananda Hamom and Bony Gurumayum attended the function too.
MMAB magazine Wangmada Vol.
II was released before lunch.
Post lunch, there was an entertainment and music session from Sadananda and Bony.
MMAB would like to thank each and everyone for their support and co-operation.
The celebration resumed to the next day as well.
MMAB organised friendly football matches with around 50 players including Sadananda and Bony and over 100 spectators enjoying the game of football at Play Arena, Saijapur Road.
