JAC demands handing over of Kamalbabu by Nov 29

The Joint Action Committee formed in connection with the disappearance of Laishram Kamalbabu has demanded that authorities hand him over to the JAC by November 29.Kamalbabu, a resident of Khurkhul in Imphal West, but native of Assam's Cachar district, went missing on Monday afternoon from the 57 Mountain Division Army camp in Leimakhong.
A sit-in protest was held along the Kanto Sabal road leading to Leimakhong, with protesters demanding Kamalbabu's safe release.
As part of the protest, no army vehicles from the Leimakhong camp were allowed to pass through.
In connection with his disappearance, the JAC Against the Missing of Laishram Kamalbabu has passed several resolutions, including the demand for Kamalbabu's safe return to his family and the JAC by November 29, prevention of any Military Engineering Services (MES) staff, contractors, labourers, or the public from entering the Leimakhong Army camp, and organise a public meeting with the support of CSOs and the public.
