Imphal, September 02 2009: Imphal West district Police commandos claimed to have arrested two KYKL (MDF) activists along with demand notes of Rs 40,000,00 on Tuesday around 6.45pm near North AOC Traffic Point, according to a statement issued by SSP of Imphal West district, L Kailun.

The two activists were Leishangthem Ngouba alias Cyprust (29) son of L Babu of Khurai Sajor Leikai and Oinam Dinachandra alias Nagan (26), son of (L) O Madan of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai.

Among others, three demand letters of KYKL (MDF) signed by Khaba Mangang (finance secretary), MDF, addressed to Parijat of Lamlai amounting to Rs 20,000,00 and Shyam Trader (Nokia Care) of Thangal Bazar, Imphal amounting to Rs 20,000,00, one blank demand letter of the outfit, one Chinese hand grenade with detonator, one .32 pistol along with 8 live rounds, and one Nokia handset were recovered from the possession of the L Ngouba alias Cyprust, the statement claimed.

Two Chinese hand grenades with two detonators, one Mahindra Safari (MN 03/P-0820), one RC book in the name of one Oinam Inaobi, son of O Mikhu of Khurai Kongpal Chingambam Leikai and one driving license in the name of Oinam Dinachandra alias Nagan were seized from their possession, the statement added.

In an unrelated incident, a combined team of Imphal East district police commandos and 28 AR claimed to have nabbed two PLA activists from Kshetrigao area today around 12.30 noon.

They were Gurumayum Milan alias Joykumar (28), son of G Joy of Brahmapur Nahabam Leikai and Gurumayum Kiranbala (32), daughter of G Joykumar of the same locality, a police statement of the Imphal East district claimed.

Meanwhile, a KCP (MC) activist identified as Md.Qitabuddin alias Milan (21) was arrested by the IE commandos yesterday from Hatta Golapati.

Source from the Moirang PS said that a 'second lieutenant' of the UNLF, identified as Guneshore alias Chairenlakpa (35), son of Oinam Samungou of Thanga Chingkha Mayai Leikai was arrested by 7 AR with a pistol early this morning around 3 .
