TET process for Meetei Mayek in motion

Setting the process for conducting TET for Meetei Mayek in motion, a meeting of the Expert Committee on Meetei Mayek chaired by Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro was conducted at his office chamber in Babupara today.
The meeting deliberated on the need to chalk out strategies for conducting TET for Meetei Mayek.
It may be noted that a Sub-Committee with the Secretary of Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur has already been formed to look into the matter of making MIL compulsory for all students up to the level of Class XII and forbid them from taking up Alternative English
in place of MIL.
The Education Minister advised the Sub-Committee to submit a report to the Language and Meetei Mayek Expert Committee within 15 days.
He also informed the members present in the meeting that a Cabinet meeting to amend the Manipur Official Language Act 1979 and also establish a Language Directorate would be convened soon after the arrival of the Chief Minister.
