The JAC formed in connection with the murder of SDO Kashom Khullen Dr Kishan and his two subordinate staffs today announced boycott to the leaders of the ruling UPA visiting Manipur decrying the inaction in awarding punishment to the murderers.
A statewide general strike which would be effective from 4 am of April 13 to 6 pm has also been called by the JAC.
Mediacal services, fire services, water tankers and for those who will turn up for floral tribute on the day will be keep outside the purview of the general strike, members of the JAC said while addressing a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal this afternoon.
During the press conference, the JAC also announced its future line of protest against government delay in fulfilling the pending demand of the JAC.
To mark the completion of two month to the agitation and protest launching by the JAC, a public curfew will also be imposed on April 17 which would be effective from 6 pm till 10 pm.
It also appealed the people to burn down the effigies of the NSCN(IM) leader Th Muivah by the local clubs and meira paibis on this day to register strong protest against the "terroristic" act of the outfit.
On the next on April 18, the JAC is organizing a mass rally which a public meeting will also be held at the concluding part of the rally.
It also appealed politicians not to use the case of murder of the three government employees as tools to woo electors during their election campaigns.
The JAC also expressing denouncement to the state government remaining silent asked why O Ibobi who promised not to leave any stone unturned while taking up actions against those who violet law of the land and whether Manipur government is under the control of the NSCN(IM) .
